I decided on an EV, but I did not want one without a charging point in the garage. I contacted JEC and sent a number of pictures. Two electricians surveyed the house.
My house is looped, this is where the main power cable comes into my house, then out again and into my neighbour’s house. JEC filled out & sent the application form. National Grid unlooped my house for free.
The garage is a distance from my house so it was agreed that I would lay the cable. JEC supplied all the technical requirements and answered a number of questions.
With cable in place the two electricians returned fitted a consumer unit, EV charging point & sockets in the garage. In the house replace an old fuse board with a consumer unit and wired in the new circuit to the garage.
My installation was a bit more complicated than the normal, the house being looped and the distance to the garage. However, JEC supported me all the way. The two electricians answered all my questions, and I would be happy to recommend JEC.
